The libraries in Jefferson County are excited to also now offer text messaging for holds, a 3-day courtesy reminder, renewals & library card expiration reminders. This is sure to be a useful tool for parents, especially when it comes to checking out summer reading materials as parents can get a text message to remind them that a hold is ready for pick-up or that they need to renew overdue titles. You can even renew items just by sending a reply text message.
Also, the library cooperative recently rolled out a Public Libraries In Jefferson County app from the App store.
“We encourage everyone to go to the App store, search for Public Libraries In Jefferson County, Alabama and download the app,” said Pat Ryan, Executive Director, Public Libraries in Jefferson County. “Library cardholders can then start searching for downloadable or any title, renew items in 2 strokes, and more!”
