Let’s take a closer look at some creative things you can do or you can do with your children on Labor Day. Birmingham has a lot to offer right outside of our back door!
There will be a 26th Annual Labor Day Celebration and Moon Pie Eating Contest in McCalla starting Monday, 9/4, at 9 a.m. This location is actually Tannehill Ironworks Historical State Park. There, you can participate in this fun pie eating contest event, and you are competing for prize money in both adult and children’s categories. Across the park, the United Mine Workers hold their Annual District Labor Day Celebration. There is plenty of great BBQ and some “picking and singing,” too! Source: Birmingham.Eventful.com
