Have you heard about Bargain Carousel, the largest yard sale in Birmingham? This annual event put on by the Junior League of Birmingham is the place to find anything and everything at amazing prices, but did you know there’s a huge party to kick things off? The Bargain Bash happens the Thursday night prior to the weekend sale, and it’s a perfect girls’ night out!
Bargain Carousel takes place every April, and the 2017 event raised over $150,000 for local projects. How does it work? Gently used everything is donated by Junior League members, local businesses, and the community, and it is all offered at bargain prices. After Birmingham shops the event, monies raised fund Junior League of Birmingham community projects such as Second Servings, a program designed to recover prepared food and deliver it to those in need. There are over thirty projects the Junior League of Birmingham supports, and a large portion of the funding comes from Bargain Carousel.
Bargain Bash
This Thursday night party ticket includes food, cocktails, and the atmosphere of a fun night out. (Ladies, there’s even a DJ!) The event is supported by local businesses that make sure attendees are well fed and entertained. VIP tickets get you in an hour early for first access to all items and auctions! Bargain Bash is designed to feel like a fundraiser, with items selling for double their ticket prices. Rest assured, the event’s pricing is so good that Thursday night deals are still just that – deals. Grab a group of girlfriends, and go shopping for anything on your radar: children’s birthday gifts (tons of brand new toys), home improvement projects (Did you know there’s a section of building materials?), children’s clothes (hello, smocked outfits!), and your own wardrobe (because you deserve it?).
