{You’re Invited} Bloom 2020 :: An Event for New and Expecting Moms in Birmingham

COVID-19 UPDATE: Birmingham Moms Blog and St. Vincent’s Hospital have partnered together to take the following precautions to ensure the  health and safety of all of our Bloom attendees and participants:

  • Everyone will be provided a mask as a part of their swag bag.
  • We will have two different panel times so that everyone can sit six feet apart. The first panel will start at 6:50 p.m. and the second will start at 8:00 p.m., and you will choose your panel time when you buy your tickets. 
  • Table vendors will be placed six feet apart, and business representatives will be required to wear masks. 
  • Dinner will now be individual box meals. 

We will continue to monitor the situation, and if need be, we will switch to a virtual event. If this happens, we will have a live Q & A panel, live giveaways during the Q & A, short video vignettes of our business vendors, and a scheduled pickup time for swag bags. More details to come on this option should we need to switch to a virtual event. If we have to cancel this event, you will receive a full refund. 

Birmingham Moms Blog is thrilled to announce that we are bringing Bloom back to our city for the 3rd year in a row! We are linking arms with the City Mom Collective {our parent site} as well as 50 other Sister Sites across the nation to celebrate moms as they enter into motherhood for the first, second, third, or more time!!!

This exclusive event is geared towards moms, dads, and grandparents who are planning to grow their family, currently expecting, in their first year of motherhood, or fostering/adopting little ones. This year, we will be holding the event at the beautiful St. Vincent’s Women and Children’s Center in the Bruno Conference Center to provide an evening of pampering, delicious food, informational resources, and of course — plenty of swag and giveaways, too.

Due to the nature of the event, tickets will be *extremely limited* and available on a first come, first served basis only. Last year the event sold out very fast, so we encourage you to save the date now when tickets go on sale: Thursday, May 28th for Early Bird and Monday, June 1st for all tickets.

WHEN & WHERE

Bloom will be held on Tuesday, June 23rd from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. (6:00 p.m. for VIP Attendees!). This year we are excited that the event will be at St. Vincent’s Women and Children’s Center in the Bruno Conference Center (810 Saint Vincent’s Drive Women and Children’s Center, Birmingham, AL 35205). 

FOOD

We are thrilled to have Taco Mama as our food sponsor for Bloom 2020. On the menu: burrito boxes with options of beef, chicken, barbacoa, steak, pork, or vegetarian. They are made with rice or refried beans, pico de gallo, cheese, and sour cream. They also come with chips and salsa. YUM! Have a food allergy or preference? You can let us know in the questions on your ticket order form

TICKETS

Ticket price includes access to EVERYTHING we have planned for this event! Of course, you may plan on buying items from vendors. As always, moms, dads, and grandparents are all welcome to attend!

Due to the nature of the event, tickets will be *extremely limited* and available on a first come, first served basis only. The last two years this event SOLD OUT, so we encourage you to save the date now and make arrangements with friends so that you do not miss out once ticket sales open in Eventbrite, starting on Thursday, May 28th for Early Bird and Monday, June 1st for General Admission and VIP at 8:00 p.m.

If this event is moved to a virtual event, your ticket will still be valid. If this happens, we will have a live Q & A panel through Zoom and Facebook, live giveaways during the Q & A, short video vignettes of our business vendors, and a scheduled pickup time for swag bags. More details to come on this option should we need to switch to a virtual event. If we have to cancel this event, you will receive a full refund. 

{Please note :: Newborns in carriers or slings are welcome. However, due to the set-up of our space, strollers and children over the age of one will not be permitted.} There will be two types of tickets available: General Admission and VIP.

Early Bird General Admission tickets on sale Thursday, May 28th at 8:00 p.m. General Admission and VIP tickets go on sale Monday, June 1st at 8:00 pm.

THE PANEL

We are thrilled to have five amazing doctors and specialists from St. Vincent’s on our panel this year. Among last year’s panelists, we had an OB/GYN, a Pediatrician, an OB/GYN Nurse Practitioner, and a Lactation Specialist/Registered Nurse. As we finalize each panelist, we will introduce them to you. Be sure to bring all of your questions for these experienced specialists!

This year we are excited to partner with Bundles of Hope Diaper Bank as our non-profit partner. Bundles of Hope Diaper Bank seeks to provide an adequate and reliable supply of diapers to families experiencing financial hardship in Birmingham and surrounding areas while engaging the community and raising awareness for diaper need.

Bloom attendees can support Bundles of Hope diaper bank by bringing a diaper donation (preferably size 5, 6, or pull ups) as well as cash, check, or credit card. For every bag or box of diapers you bring and every $10 donation, you will receive 5 extra giveaway tickets, up to 15 tickets! You may bring as many as you’d like!
