Birmingham
I was raised in a small town northwest of Birmingham where rolling meadows, white picket fences, and the friendly waves of neighbors weren’t constructs but realities. Growing up, I cherished memories of sweet summer days flanked by Southern grits in the morning, sun tea and watermelon on the picnic table at lunch, and s’mores over the campfire at night.
We recently moved to a quiet wooded oasis in the middle of our bustling city. Now those sweet summer days can become a reality for our children as well. I love that Birmingham offers rich cultural experiences and all the benefits of a metropolis while still boasting the Southern hometown feel.
Moms
I have a great love for the nations and have travelled extensively. Because of that, I didn’t make time to settle down until my mid-thirties. I met my husband, Chris, at church in 2013. We married in March 2015, and within three short years, had three children under three years old.
Having little ones has reminded me of the most essential life lessons. Children continually forgive, don’t stress over the little things, see every day as a new day, are blind to differences, love others, and always have fun. Sometimes I just want to lean back and let them teach me instead of me teaching them.
Blog
I am elated to share my thoughts and experiences with you through Birmingham Moms Blog. I am part of several mom groups, and I cherish the wisdom imparted to me through each of them. Wading through motherhood alone should not be an option in today’s society. We are living through a modern cultural paradigm where blogs are just as much a source of communication as are texts and emails. Connectivity creates community, and I look forward to becoming part of yours.
