Afternoon Tunes Under the Statue

Looking for something fun and family-friendly to do this weekend? If you’ve never been to one of Vulcan Park’s AfterTunes events, now is the time to go. AfterTunes promises to be a fun afternoon of live music, good food, and craft beers while overlooking the Magic City.

General admission includes:

  • Seating is first-come, first-served, and visitors are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets
  • Additional parking is available at the Jefferson County Board of Education lot (2100 8th Street South, Birmingham, AL 35209).
    • Shuttle service is provided before and after the concert

Make My Ticket a VIP, Please

Additionally, for the first time this year, Vulcan is offering VIP tickets to AfterTunes for $25, which includes:

  • Admission to the concert, access to the KIDS ZONE, the Vulcan Center Museum, and Vulcan’s observation tower
  • Front row seating
  • Use of Vulcan Park and Museum stadium chair
  • Two drink tickets
  • One parking pass for exclusive onsite parking
  • 20% OFF any purchase in Vulcan’s store, The Anvil

Three AfterTunes Dates:

If you and the kids can’t make it out this weekend, there are two more AfterTunes concerts this fall. Here’s the full schedule:

  • September 23 — featuring Los Colognes with Duquette Johnston
  • October 7 — featuring Iron Horse with Will Stewart
  • October 21 — featuring Great Peacock with Maddie Medley

Gates open at 1:00 p.m. with musicians taking the stage at 3:00 p.m. That gives your family plenty of time to run around on the grassy hills, play in the KIDS ZONE, walk through the hands-on museum (and do the kid-friendly museum scavenger hunt), and take the elevator up to Vulcan’s lookout deck — all before the live music begins! For more information and to purchase tickets, head to Vulcan Park and Museum’s website here. See you there!
