Guide to Birmingham Consignment Sales

Guide to Birmingham consignment sales

It’s almost time for another season of consignment sales. These happen twice per year, in the spring and fall, and I still get as excited as I did when I first started attending them over 11 years ago!

I love walking into the gym and seeing all the racks of clothes, bins of shoes, and tables of toys. I get probably 80 percent of my kids’ clothes at consignment sales (the rest come from Target and Walmart).

Not only do I shop, but I consign as well. Depending on how well I do, I can come out close to even on what I sell and what I spend.

If you choose to consign, know it involves a substantial time commitment. It takes awhile to gather your child’s clothes together, enter the clothes into the computer system, print out tags, hang the clothes, pin the tags on the clothes — all before finally dropping them off. But, there is a bonus! You get to shop early before the sale opens to the public so you can get dibs on the best items!

The proceeds from most of the sales go back to the churches to help with their missions and children’s programs, so that’s awesome, too.

The Birmingham area has some great sales all across Jefferson and Shelby counties. Here is a list of upcoming sales (in order of date):
